About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our projects, ensuring that they are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will help lead our operations team, implement lean principles, and focus on continuous improvement across the organization.

This is a leadership role with a direct impact on the success of our projects and the company’s operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating efficient, productive, and high-performing teams.

What You'll Do

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead & Mentor: Oversee a team of Site Advisors, Crew Managers, and other operational staff. Provide mentorship, feedback, and leadership to ensure the team's success.

  • Develop Talent: Foster a high-performance culture through on-the-job training, coaching, and professional development. Support employees in their personal growth with the Apprenticeship Philosophy, ensuring they develop key skills aligned with LeanScaper principles.

  • Performance Management: Set clear expectations, measure performance, and hold teams accountable for achieving project goals. Ensure all team members are aligned with the company’s core values and operational goals.

Operations Excellence

  • Optimize Processes: Drive continuous improvement in project execution by applying LeanScaper principles. Eliminate waste, improve productivity, and reduce inefficiencies.

  • Project Oversight: Ensure that all aspects of the projects are on track, including budgets, timelines, quality, and safety standards. Oversee resource allocation and management to meet project needs and deadlines.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project success and develop mitigation plans. Ensure proper safety standards are met and that all work is in compliance with company and industry regulations.

  • Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, track costs, and ensure cost-effective operations without compromising quality or safety.

Operational Systems & Tools

  • LeanScaper Implementation: Use LeanScaper methodologies to streamline project workflows and improve performance. Implement operational systems and tools that ensure efficient execution and continuous feedback loops.

  • Technology Integration: Leverage technology and software (e.g., Fleetio, LMN Time, MileIQ) to track progress, performance, and resource management across projects. Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure smooth communication across teams.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop long-term operational strategies that align with company goals and ensure sustainable growth.

  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on project progress, team performance, and financials. Utilize data-driven insights to inform decisions and improve future operations.

Who We're Looking For

  • Proven Leadership Experience: 5+ years of experience in operations management or a similar role, ideally within the construction, landscaping, or related industries. Experience in managing teams, budgets, and complex projects is essential.

  • LMN Experience: Strong understanding of Landscaping Management Tool (LMN) business software for managing estimating, project budgets.

  • Excellent Communicator: Ability to effectively communicate with teams, stakeholders, and senior management. You should be a strong motivator, collaborator, and problem-solver.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly assess situations and identify solutions to challenges that arise during project execution. Proactive and solution-oriented approach.

  • Organized and Detail-Oriented: Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Passionate About Safety: A commitment to fostering a culture of safety in every aspect of operations. You must prioritize the safety of employees and stakeholders at all times.

  • Technology-Savvy: Familiarity with project management and reporting software is preferred. Strong skills in using tools that support operational efficiencies.
