A seasoned course with big aspirations gets a major renovation
Teamwork and communication come through in a big way
Completing all of the work on this project was no small feat due to tight schedules and several other challenges — including adding additional work to the project scope along the way.
Despite the obstacles, we were able to produce stunning results, right on schedule, thanks to our team’s hard work and daily communication with our client. The fluid communication resulted in quick problem solving, efficient work and a real sense of teamwork for everyone involved. We’re proud of the work we completed and the excellent relationship we forged with our client throughout the project.
A bright future for a beautiful course
This comprehensive renovation has left the course in a fantastic spot, with plenty of opportunity ahead. The superintendent will enjoy lower operating costs and fewer maintenance headaches and the members will have a more beautiful, strategic and fun course to play. The improvements will also make the club even more attractive to new members, new tournaments and new attention in the days to come.
Key Features
All 49 bunkers were reshaped to be smaller, softer and simpler. We also installed Better Billy Bunker Liners in each and replaced drainage, sand and surrounding sod.
12 new gold tees were built to increase the overall course yardage. 2 existing tees were rebuilt to improve play and accessibility.
The driving range was renovated with:
2 - 4,000 ft2 chipping greens
1 - 10,500 ft2 putting green
1 - 15,000 ft2 putting course
2 - 50,0000 ft2 range tee decks
We removed and added cart paths to improve traffic flow and reduce problem wear areas.
1,500 m of 4” drain lines were installed throughout the course.
A 5,000 m3 fescue grassed mound was added in front of the green on hole #13.
